# Preparing for connection day

Woohoo! Connection day is coming soon for you. Let's get ready 🎉

## **1.  Download the eero App**

You’ll use this to configure your router and manage your whole home network. Install it now so you can hit the ground running:

## **2. Power Up & Position**

* **Power Sockets**: You’ll need **two** free sockets—one for the ONT (black box) installed by the operator, and one for your Eero router.
* **Location Tip**: Pick a central, elevated spot away from thick walls for the best Wi-Fi coverage.
